Obituary for Robert Earl Harrier, Sr.

Robert Earl Harrier, Sr., 83, of Michigan City, passed away peacefully at 9:02 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Franciscan Health Hospital, Michigan City.

He was born October 1, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana, to Earl and Bessie (Stout) Harrier.

Robert honorably served his country for 12 years in the United States Air Force. He was a truck driver for 39 years, retiring at the age of 62. Robert was a board member of Faith City Assembly of God, Michigan City. He enjoyed the beauty of antique cars and was a jack of all trades, known to many as Mr. Fix It.

On September 23, 1995, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Edna Ann (Horner) Harrier, who survives.

Also surviving are his four children, Robert (Suzette) Harrier Jr. of Elkhart, Rodney (Lori) Harrier of Clinton, IL, Trudie (Kevin) Mullins of Mishawaka and Julie Keb of Kokomo; four step children, Joyce Miller, Nancy (Steven) Gonzales, Janice Boone all of Michigan City and Robbie Anagnostou of Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Joan (James) List of Muncie and Sandra Barkes of South Bend; nineteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Preceding in death were his parents; step-son, Martin Ayers; two nieces, Jackie and Jody Barkes; and brother-in-law, James Barkes.

Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Faith City Assembly of God, 1314 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, with Pastor Dick Pawlak officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend immediately following services. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
