Obituary for Elizabeth Carol Brown

Elizabeth Carol Brown, 85, of La Porte, passed away peacefully 10:07 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 in her home.

She was born August 13, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to Walter and Helen (Daker) Guettner.

Elizabeth was a former member and taught school at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and School, Michigan City. She was a devote catholic nun for Blue Island Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, IL. Elizabeth loved shopping, bicycling and going to garage sales. She also loved her pets.

On January 18, 1960, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married, Kenneth Brown Sr., who preceded her in death January 10, 2012.

Also preceding in death were her parents; three siblings, William and James Guettner and Bonnie Moscotto; and close friend, Helen Wisthoff.

Surviving are her two children, Kenneth Brown Jr. and Katherine Brown both of La Porte; one sister, Laverne Guetther of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Ashley (Billy) Rowe, Elizabeth (Thomas) Grathwohl and Megan Brown Harrison; and three great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Madison Rowe and Ben Grathwohl.

A private graveside service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
