Robert E. Rubeck, 77, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 4:10 A.M., April 4, 2019.
On May 16, 1941, in DeKalb, IL, he was born to Lawrence G. and Frances M. (Yore) Rubeck.

After graduation he served in the U.S. Army for two years, completing one tour of combat in Vietnam where he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Bob was a hard worker who used his many skills before finding his home at NIPSCO, where he retired after thirty four years of service. Bob was a devout member and deacon of the First Congregational Church of Three Oaks Michigan. He was also a member of the New Carlisle High School Alumni Association.
As a diehard Cub fan, Bob enjoyed not only watching and cheering on his Cubs, but also attending games at Wrigley Field, annual Cubs Conventions, and traveling to Arizona for Spring Training every chance he got. Bob took his love and expertise of the game of baseball and shared it with the youth of Kingsbury, Indiana, by coaching the Woodmen of the World Rangers. Bob’s love of sports didn’t stop with the Cubs. He was also an avid life-long fan of all things Michigan State, especially basketball…GO GREEN!
